MCKG is pleased to be re-opening its doors to students from Saturday 25th July 2020. However, as we’re still slowly coming out of lockdown, we have to follow government guidelines in order to train safely. This means that the classes we will be holding will be a lot different to how they used to be until these guidelines are lifted and it’s safe to train with one another at close range again.
We will be holding a few classes to start with to trial our new system so please be patient with us – this is as new to us as it is to you.
We will shortly be unveiling an online booking system that will allow you to book your place on the weekly classes available. Due to the 2m distance rulings, spaces will unfortunately be limited for each class to ensure the safety of those training. This is a first-come, first-served system and payment must be made within 24 hours of booking by BACS to be guaranteed a spot otherwise your placement will be cancelled and available to someone else. If you need to swap your booked date, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance so we can fill your vacant spot.
All adults and kids over the age of 11 years old will be required to wear a face covering and, in some cases, a visor, whilst training. Face coverings and visors are available from local shops but we will also be getting these in stock too if you’d like to purchase one from ourselves. Kids under the age of 11 will not need to wear a visor or a mask.
As we’re unable to train in close proximity, BJJ, CSW and STX Kickboxing classes will be rather different to the style of classes you will be used to, instead focusing on solo drills, footwork and shadowboxing. Whilst this is not ideal, it is the best we can offer right now to keep people safe whilst adhering to the Covid guidelines. As restrictions ease further, we’ll gradually be able to return to our normal style of classes. Kettlebell, circuits and Kali weaponry classes will differ less due to the natural ability to be distanced from others. Kids classes will also be socially distanced so each student will be distanced from the next with a focus on fitness exercises and solo drills.
Everyone who attends the gym to train will be unable to get changed at our facility therefore you must arrive wearing your training clothing which must be cleaned before and after each training session. Your temperature will be checked upon arrival to ensure you’re healthy to train. As we can’t have spectators inside the gym, all the parents must wait outside when coming to collect their children.
For adult students who wish to resume their monthly membership package, please contact Mel. Otherwise, classes will be charged at the PAYG rate of £7.50 for adults. Classes will continue at £5 for children.
We can’t wait to welcome our students back to the gym and see your friendly faces once again. We thank you for your understanding and hope you can show your support for the club at this time.
